Marion, Indiana, located in Grant County, is about midway between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne along I-69. Marion has a population of about 25,000 while that of Grant Co., is a little more than 71,000. Although not an industrial center or a populous area, Marion and Grant Co., does have an aviation legacy of men and women who kept the dream of flight alive. Those who struggled to establish local flying are gone and their names forgotten. It was to preserve that record that Wings Over Marion Indiana was written.
Wings Over Marion was first published in 1998 and then revised in 2000, covering the nearly 100 year story of Marion's flying adventure, . This "one of a kind" book is available and will be presented in the Marion Aviation section (NEXT)
Photos and stories are included in "Pilots & Planes." If you have photos/stories, please e-mail them to wings@nxco.com.
The "Links & "Bill" section provides several of our favorite links. We would like other links devoted to aviation. This page details something of this writer.
As you peruse this site, we hope you will enjoy it, and "y'all come back real soon."
